Winter brings snow, dozens of freeze-thaw cycles and the magnesium-chloride brine the county and INDOT spray by the tanker. That salt rides home on your tires, drips onto the slab and attacks bare or poorly sealed concrete — pitting the surface and, over years, corroding the rebar underneath.
